Looking into a post-secondary education for the first time can be pretty overwhelming, and figuring out how you’ll pay for it all can add extra stress. To help, here are five options to keep in mind while going through the process. Keep in mind – you can use 1 option, or all 5 combined!

1. Scholarships, Grants or Bursaries
Or as some people call it, “free money.” Scholarships are typically based on merit, while grants and bursaries are often awarded based on financial need, but other accomplishments may be considered. Either way, it’s assistance you usually don’t have to pay back once you graduate.

Talk to your guidance counselors, and financial aid offices at the schools you’re looking at. Search the scholarships section of this site and others to see what’s available. Increase your chances by applying for everything you qualify for.
